West Springfield – Samuel E. Gourley, 77, died Wednesday in Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.  Sam was born in Springfield, grew up in Chicopee and was a graduate of Chicopee High School.  He was a Machinist for Pratt & Whitney for 35 years until his retirement in 1999.  He served in the United States Marine Reserves and was a member of the Gospel Hall Church in West Springfield.  His wife Margaret (Coach) Gourley died in 2010.  He leaves his two sons Samuel J. Gourley and his wife Kristina and Brian D. Gourley; a brother William Gourley and his wife Jean and three grandchildren Daniel, Sophia and Nicholas.  The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday at 9:30am followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
