Not sure what to say?

Sam was a treasured asset to many performances with the Emory Glee Club (all-male version) under the direction of William Lemonds. Sam toured with us on several tours and sang proud and strong as a featured soloist to the all-white audiences in churches across small towns in Georgia, Alabama and Florida. I have his voice on a vinyl record performing with the club that I will cherish forever.

I was shocked to find out that Sam Hagan has recently passed after googling his name. His powerful singing voice impressed me. In 2008, he sang at my Dad & Mom´s 65th wedding anniversary at St John Neumann Catholic Church in Lilburn. A month later, he sang at my Mom´s funeral mass. Then the following year in January he sang again at my Dad´s funeral mass. I have his cd "His Eye On The Sparrow" and listening to it reminds me of his singing for my parents. Fortunately, I was able to take videos...

Condolences to Sam's family and especially Marti. Having known Sam for many years through music at Emory, First Presbyterian, and his association with Jean and Bill Lemonds, I'm so glad that I got to see him last August. After my mom passed, Sam was the one I knew she would love to sing at her funeral. Generous with his musical gift, he sang gloriously for her send-off. His smile, warmth, and humility will be missed! Maybe he and mom and making music together in heaven now.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Sam, sending my condolences to Martha and the family. Sam and I worked together in the biology lab at Georgia State; he smiled all the time just like his dad who I nicknamed "Smiling Sam." I was struggling with writing my personal statement for medical school; it was Sam who assisted me. Sam was a great person to work with; he will be missed.

Thank you, Sam, for all of the times that you shared your beautiful Tenor voice. Hearing you at Mass at St. Jude, singing for my husbands funeral and hearing you sing several times at St. George Village. You were truly a blessing.

So many years of sharing music, ASO and Mass at ST JUDE with SAM HAGAN! Yes, Sam also was the musical voice of my husband´s funeral at ST JUDE! Sam and I started at a very young age with our love of music. Memory Eternal to a wonderful talent and dear friend!

I had the good fortune of singing with Sam Hagan in the church choir at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Sandy Springs. His was a voice for the ages, and he was as kind and generous as he was talented. He will be sorely missed. Sincerest condolences to the family.

I am so honored to have called Sam, my friend. Such a fabulous human and one that will be missed on the planet. Love to the family. Shelly Dollar

The McKeever's will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
