Sam was one of the first people we met when my family relocated to Gastonia in 2002. He walked up with a big smile, introduced himself and was a true neighbor/friend. Condolences to his friends and family because he will be sorely missed. Rest well Big Sam

I'm so very sad to learn of the passing of one of the greatest people I've ever known. Sam will be truly missed by all of the world. There are few people like him in existence. It was difficult to be in a bad mood around Sam. He just wouldn't have that. A kind and gentle soul!! Always went out of his way to make others smile. Rest In Peace, My Friend. My husband and I have known Sam from the time he was in high school. He was a very good friend of our son. They were friends through college and beyond. Every time he was at our home, he was always so friendly and mannerly. He would always give me a big hug. Our prayers and thoughts will be with his family during this most difficult time.

i have known Sam since elementary school. we was an awesome person then and will surely be missed. May he rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior. Rest easy ole friend
