I just found out that Dr. Hathy passed away. I am saddened by this news as I just saw him in January. He spoke so highly of his family! Much love to all! He will be greatly missed!!!!

I was so surprised to hear of Sam´s passing tonight! I first met him when our daughters did Indian Princesses together, and he became my optometrist once I needed glasses. He was always so kind and friendly and will be so greatly missed. May the Lord grant you His comfort and peace, may fond memories and the prayers of others sustain you, and may Sam rest in eternal peace. My prayers are with you all during this time of great loss!

Dr Sam Hathy was a great man, husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbor. Our family had the privilege to be next door neighbors for many years on Mallard Landing Drive. Their children and ours were close friends all through high school and remain friends today. We loved the Florida vs Georgia weekend for only one reason: Sam's wonderful shrimp & grits.
