Just heard of Sam's death and I am
very sorry! Sam and Sue were both
lovely people and lots of fun. I
knew them from Brecksville Little
Theatre and enjoyed working with
them on/in a show. The good old gang is leaving us one by one.

I'll remember Sam mostly for his humor, easy laughter, the pleasure of his company, and the sign on his laboratory office door reminding us all to "Eat More Possum." I'm saddened that he is no longer with us.

The clearest and longest lasting memory I have of Sam was his thespian performance in "Waiting for Godot" about 35 years ago. Not only did he bring great pleasure to me and the audience, his passion for acting was a testimonial to the breadth and depth of the man. God keep you Sam.

I have many fond memories of Sam. He indeed was a wit and a rubber chemistry pioneer. I was a young chemist/engineer at the time, and it seemed that every "new" idea anyone brought up, Sam would say "we did that 20 years ago!" He had a raspy loud voice, an energetic manner, a good command of chemistry, and he smoked many a cigar. He was someone I never knew socialy outside of the lab, but I liked him a lot. He was one of those unforgettable characters in my life.

I knew Sam from The B.F.Goodrich Company and can attest to his sharp wit. I also knew Sam from another perspective since we were both involved in local little theater - he more than I. I recall, with admiration, his lead performance in "The Subject Was Roses" for the Bath Players. It was fun being around Sam.
