Not sure what to say?

2008 in Lincoln NE

Uncle Sam and Aunt Thelma were at my dying father's side in September in Lincoln, Nebraska. This photo holds fond memories of that "reunion". They are both so dear to my heart.

For the Hunter Family,

Sam Hunter and my father, Ron Dietzman, were colleagues for a number of years in St. Paul. I had the distinct pleasure of getting to know Dr. Hunter at that time and was always impressed by his gentle manner. My father held him in the highest regard as both a distinguished physician and friend. I offer my deepest sympathy to your family as you celebrate his life.

Dear Thelma,
We were so sorry to hear of Sam's passing. He was a wonderful man, and it was such a pleasure to have known him. Our love always,

Dear Thelma and family-We were saddened to hear of Sam's passing.
We have many fond memories of our friendship. If it were not for Sam we would not have been members at Somerset which gave us the opportunity to get to know you and Sam on a more personal basis. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

For Thelma and the Hunter family,

Missy and I were so sorry to hear of Sam's death. He was such a wonderful man and we were going through similar events with Missy's father, George Walker, so we are keenly aware of how you feel. Please know that you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Dr Hunter.
He was a friend and a pioneer in heart surgery.
Dr Hunter was great at sharing his memories and had a fine sense of humor.
He will be missed.

Like many others, I've always considered the Hunters to be my 'second family'. I'm deeply saddened by Sam's passing and are thinking of all of you - particularly Thelma, of course.

My favorite story regarding Dr. Hunter goes back to my childhood. I grew up a couple of miles away from the Hunters and the trip between our homes was down a large hill on Marie Avenue. One night while I was in the car with my Mother (this was about 1980), we happened to be driving the stretch of Marie...
