Robert, along with Shirley, were high school friends of my mother. I wore his POW bracelet. I grew to know Robert and Shirley through my Mom and Dad. They were both great patriots and people. I salute the Congressman's service in the Air Force and the Congress. God Bless his life.

I wore his POW bracelet while in Elementary School and waited for him to be released. He sure did make it back and boy did he live his life after returning. His political views were right on with mine and he was a great example and I was proud to be in this area with him as our representative. Rest in Peace.

Such a humble and ambitious man. His accomplishments and service have been noted and will be long remembered. I feel blessed just to have lived during a time when men of such valor and honor served with humility and a heart for God.

A great human being in every way and a great friend to me! He will never be forgotten for all his accomplishments.

Rest in Peace Sam, you were a true American and Plano Hero. I will never forget growing up in Plano and while in School praying for your Safe return. The Parade they had for you when you came home was one big party!!

Gini, Beverly, Anita and Family: Sam and I served together in Congress and on the same committee for many years. He was a wonderful Friend, and I am especially grateful for his heroic service to our country. I am very sorry for your loss.
