Tertius always had wise things to say. Last time I talked to him on 02/12/03, when asked if he had eaten yet, he said "I figure I'd eat like an Indian", if there is food on the table, I will eat a lot, and if there is no food, I won't. It's feast or famine is what he said. . . I bet there's no famine where he is at right now.

We love him dearly and miss him a lot!!

We have been priviledged over the years to have opportunities to chat with Sam III, and we always enjoyed those occasions. He was a gentle and delightful man, and his family can take solace in the fact that he lived a long and productive life, and enjoyed it to fullest until shortly before his death.

Sam III will always have a special place in my heart as my memories of him are of someone so full of life and love for his family and friends. He lived his life as he wanted to, and never missed an opportunity to travel, go hunting with his grandson Sam V, drive to San Diego for our wedding, go to San Jose to see the birth of his grandaughter, go to Phoenix at Christmas to see all his grandchildren and great grandchildren open their presents, and get back to Houston to bring in the New Year...
