Not sure what to say?

I just stumbled on this. Sorry to hear of his loss. He was a great influence on me at Ferrum back in '79/'80. He introduced me to birding. When I decided to apply to Univ. of Montana after 2 years at Ferrum, he shared stories of his experiences in Montana. Sympathies to his family, colleagues, students.❤❤❤

sam was a truly extraordinary man. His passing is a loss for all of us.

My wife Trudi and I were saddened to hear of Sam's passing. I considered Sam a mentor of mine many years ago when we began our teaching careers at Ferrum College in the 70's. He will be missed.

Sam was a good man and will be missed. Rest in peace, friend.

I met Sam 30+ years ago at our hunting club in Bath Co. VA. I so enjoyed listening to his stories when we would come back from a hunt, not about the deer we were hunting but about all of the other critters he had seen. He new so much about the woods and all that live in it. He will be missed. All of his family is in my thoughts and prayers....

My heart is broken at the news of my beautiful classmate, Sammy's passing away, June 6th; my condolences to all the family, and may I say that I feel his spirit will endure forever. Please inform me regarding a future celebration of his life. You can message me at (540) 632-7483.

Joan, just seeing Sam's obituary. I am so sorry for your loss. You and Sam were always so caring and friendly. He lived a fruitful life and always seemed younger than his age!

Joan,Sean and Jason so sorry to hear of your loss, I know your memories will bring you comfort.

My hear goes out to you as you mourn the passing of Sam, one of my favorite profs who shared his calling of birds. God bless to you all!
