Not sure what to say?

Sgt Sam Nutter,

While I did not have the pleasure of getting to know you better, in the little contact I had with you, you gave me a glimpse of all the wonderful things that everyone is writing about you here. It is infinitely easier to touch someone’s life when you are with them day in and day out thought out the years. However, you managed to touch my life in a short amount of time. This is a testament to who you were as a person and solider.

When I first found...

Carole,
I knew Sam since Boot camp. We were in the same Company (C040 2nd Division). We classed up on 12 DEC 89 (some later than others). He was picked as our RCPO (RRecruitChief Petty Officer), because he had a way with asserting authority. NO ONE questioned him. He was hand picked by our Company Commander (CC), to lead the Eighty people in our company. There were about 12 leadership positions to fill while in Boot camp. Only the top Twelve of Eighty would hold them. Sam's position...

Mrs. Nutter, Your husband was an inspiration to everyone in his military reserve unit. His constant positive attitude was infectious. Please allow me to share with you my favorite example of your husbands dedication. Over a year ago, I arrived early for drill and found Sam at his desk looking very tired, but with a big smile on his face. I inquired as to why he looked so tired, yet seemed so happy. He advised that his daughter had just been born a few hours earlier, and he was so excited that...

I had the great pleasure of working with Sam for several years at Lucent Technologies. Sam was such a special person. He was sarcastic, witty, approachable and always pleasant. He was the kind of person that thought of others before himself. I considered him a friend as well as a coworker.

Sam was a great travel partner. Traveling with Sam ensured you that you would always eat and drink well. Sam loved to celebrate. Each day he found a reason to. When there wasn't time for a real...

Mrs. Nutter,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Sam at AT&T in Bridgewater, NJ. Sam was a wonderful man, kind, funny, the type of person who you enjoyed working with and just being around. I only hope the fond memories we all have of Sam will soften the pain of his passing.

May Sam be rewarded with peace now, in return for his many contributions towards peace on earth. He was a blessing to all who knew him, and he will be missed.

SGT Nutter, you will always be an inspiration to those that have had the honor of meeting you. You will always be a role model for all officer candidates that walk into leadership hall at Sea Girt, NJ.

Sam,

God Bless You and your family. You were there for us before and during OCS, and we will miss you.

Thank You for your devotion to our class, your state and your country.
