I learned of Sam's passing from a friend who is a coworker of Mr. Owen. I remember Sam as his first name is the same as my son's. Sam came in to the running store in which I work right before the Gwinnett County High School county finals his senior year. He had questions about nutrition prior to his meet, as he told me that he was trying to swim a state qualifying time.
