Not sure what to say?

My apologies for this very late response-I didn't know 1997-Art History Graduate -Herron School of Art He was an amazing Art Historian/mentor and very patient gentlemen. He helped stoke the love of art and art history in my life. By far one of the most important professors to have had cross paths with n my academic life-I teach art history and hope he is looking down from heaven and is proud of all of his students. I will attempt to carry on the legacy of love for the arts and pass it on...

Sam was a caring gentleman who made by path, as he did for may, much kinder by the work and love he shared at the First Church of Christian Science in Carmel, IN. By looking over the facilities, and by a kind word, he was loved by the members of the Church. Our continued love and support reach out to Penny and his family.

Dr. Roberson was hands down my favorite professor. I think I took just about every class he taught in the years I was at Herron. I even took a class on Southwest art, something I had zero interest in, but he made it fun. He made me love art more than I already did. He made me care about the attention to detail in everything (yes, spelling counts). There are random facts about art and architecture I spout to anyone who will listen, all because of him. He was a kind, caring person and a...

GianLorenzo Bernini/David

Dr. Sam was a patient man. He was the art historian that instilled thoroughness through Independent Study; Bernini, Frank Lloyd Wright, that was his gift to me. Thank you Sam, peace to his family. RIP.

Sam had a gentle, helpful nature which he extended to me on numerous occasions...as he leaves this shore, he approaches another one where God's light and love is constant.

Sam was a good and thoughtful friend. He gave me a break for which I am always grateful. Rest in Peace, friend.

My deepest sympathy to Penny and family at this difficult time. I knew Sam from my time at IUPUI. RIP.

Sam helped start my career in historic preservation and I am forever grateful that he did. Art history classes in Baroque, Modern architecture, survey work in Stringtown (Indy). So sorry.
