Roitenberg, Samuel Robert age 46, a resident of Palm Springs, CA for the last 9 years and formerly of Minneapolis, passed away June 19, 2009. Preceded in death by mother, Dona; brothers, David and Steven; grandparents, Sam & Ruth Libman, and Sarah & Norman Roitenberg. Survived by daughters, Tiffany and Nicole; parents, Harold & Ruth Roitenberg; sisters, Jane Roitenberg, Ursula (Nicolas) Galanos; former wife and good friend, Diane Roitenberg; and other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Ana Recinos; Samuel's caregivers, Rosie, Jackie, Pauline and Cheryl; the staff at Vitas Hospice, and to his bone marrow donor, Todd Greenberg. Even though I met Sam after he was under the care of his caretakers, he never failed to be the "Sammy" I always heard about. The man who was able to break the whole room into laughter with a couple witty, clever words. Always the continuous source of music history.
He took me under his wing and influenced me so much. I will never, ever forget all the effort he put towards my life when he was at the end of his. I am truly honored to carry on with his first set of clubs that he gave...

My most sincere condolences to you on the passing of Sam.
It has been nearly thirty years, but it seems like yesterday that Sam and I enjoyed time fishing the channels of Lake Minnetonka, traveling to and from Lake Washburn for elusive walleyes, playing in the band together, and wildly cheering on the North Stars while playing pool in Ruth and Harold's basement in Edina.
Sam was the only person I ever witnessed catching a walleye on our lake and it must have been as big...
