Rabbi Rudy was a man of thoughtfullness, caring & warmth.
As a Rabbi he did not always agree with how services were conducted at samuel-or-olom, but Rabbie Rudy told me all people have to change and adjust thier surrondings and circumstances. He was so wise.
For years after be both went to diffreent Shuls we would bumb into each other and he woulld ask me in his "Deep South African Accent"

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I still cant believe that my grandfather is gone. I loved him so much. One of my fondest memories of my Zeide was being bar mitzvah'd by him at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem(1992). I'm going to miss him deeply.

My memory of Rabbi Rudy starts in 1969 in Johannesburg, South Africa, at the Wolmarans Street Shul, where Rabbi Rudy officiated at my wedding, and at the Orange Grove Shul, which we joined in order to have him as our Rabbi.
As I became friends with his daughter, Nathalie, I had increasing contact with Rabbi Rudy and his late wife, Sarah. They both delighted in Nathalie's sons, and I particularly remember Rabbi Rudy's description of teaching Daniel for his Bar Mitzvah. Rabbi Rudy...
