You may not remember me but I worked with Sam at Quaker Oats and lived in Columbia back in 1982 and stoppe by your home a few times to visit. I was a new college student starting my first job in Philly and Sam made me feel comfortable and helped me not only with his work ethic but also made me laugh all the time. This sounds weird but I also inherited files from Sam when you moved from Philly to Columbia and Sam had the most creative penmanship that I will never forget! I also...

Bless Sam, and his wonderful family. Sam was the ideal inspiration for young people, especially his athletes. Knowing Sam for decades, Sam knew all the kids, not only our six, but it seemed every young person in the schools and community where he lived. He had a terrific impact on everyone who met him. Smiling Sam could put anyone in the right direction. He was a great guy.
