My deepest heart felt sympathy for your family and relatives. The warm feeling Sam has left me and all he came in contact with will carry us through life for many years to come. As I read each and every one of these messages about Sam I come to realize he has affected so many people with his love and leadership. JR. As he was known by friends and family will be sadly missed .

Mr Swidey taught me focus and brotherhood at Tansey Elementary-- a great start which has served me well over the years. Sorry I cannot make the service due to a board commitment, but please accept my sincere condolences. He touched the lives of many, and made a signiciant impact on all of them...a great man and a great legacy!

The Evans family would like to send our deepest condolences to the entire Swidey family. Eric, please try and take solace from the impact that your father had on you. It shines brightly through the father that you are to your own children. May god bless you and your family.

Jim and I are so sorry to hear of Sam's passing..he had such a beautiful smile that we surely be missed..Jim and Bev Burke

Sam was such a warm and wonderful person, just like his wife Mary. I recall how fond he was of Sophia, Nora, and Susanna, my three kindergarten students. He was a welcome sight when he visited my classroom. The girls loved their "Jidi." I was so lucky to have known him. He always had a smile. He will be missed. Rest in peace, Sam. You are in my thoughts and prayers, Neil, Denise and girls.

My deepest condolences to the Swidey family. I was blessed to have Mr. Swidey as a guidance counselor at Durfee. He had one of the biggest impacts on my life and helped make me the person I am today! He will be greatly missed!

Judy, I am sorry for your loss. What an amazing person your father was. He will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May the memories you all have lighten your sadness and bring smiles back again.
