Read MoreI met Sam Yaffe twice. Once as a graduate student when we shared many potluck dinners with friends and then 40 years later when we discovered our shared interest in photography. I enjoyed his company as a student and learned a great deal from his photography. I consider myself fortunate to have had both experiences with him. He will be missed.

Sam was fun to talk with. He had a self-deprecating sense of humor and always made you feel good. I had a great conversation with him at one of the recent BCC club meetings and was shocked to find out he lost his life in an accident a few days later. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to his Family!

This is such awful news. Sam was my student and my friend. He was a wonderful artist and so inspiring to my other students. He kept us together with lovely afternoons in Mickie's gardens. May his memory be a blessing.
