Sandor Garfinkle

It is over one year since the passing of a real gentleman, wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and super intelligent man called Sandy Garfinkle, and a day never passes that I do not think of Sandy and his greatness and the wonderful way he handled himself in this world. We dearly miss him. And, will always remember him for the mentsch that he still is....

Sandy was my grandpa and my favorite person in the world. Thank you everyone for posting its comforting in a weird way cause deep down you know that you wish this page didn't exsist. Well thank you and yes, he will be missed, but that just sounds like an understatement.

While I didn't know Sandy very well (I met him through my parents, Herb and Gloria Krieger about 28 years ago when I was fresh out of college) I still remember our meetings. Remembering Sandy brings to mind a favorite passage that I keep with me in my wallet. The definition of a Mench. "A Mench is a person who is clean inside and out; who neither looks up to the rich or down to the poor; who can lose without squealing and who can win without bragging; who is considerate of all people, young...

I worked with Sandy for only a few years. He was the consummate professional and a great person. Of course, everyone knows that. He will be missed.
The world would be in a lot better shape if there were more people like Sandy in it.
