Sandra Inez Belanger

Loudon, NH - Sandra Inez (Rowland) Belanger of Loudon NH passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, at the age of 72, after a long and courageous battle. Born on May 3, 1952 to Buford and Ellen (Ferrigan) Rowland, in Rochester NH, Sandra spent her childhood growing up in various New England States, ending up back in Rochester NH where she graduated from Spaulding High School in 1970.

In 1972 Sandra met Donald Belanger and the fell in love and married on June 8, 1974. They moved to Kentucky where she attended nursing school at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College, graduating as a RN in 1978. Following graduation, they returned to NH, ultimately building their home and settling in Loudon with their daughter Stephanie and their son Joshua. While raising their children, Sandra worked for many local businesses and was very active in her community, volunteering as an assistant baseball coach, a scout den mother and helping run the local summer swim program for many years.

Sandra had many interests including shopping, crafting, doing puzzles, flower gardening and bird watching. She was an avid reader, she loved search and find books and she was a fierce competitor, often challenging her grandchildren to race against her to find the hidden objects. She enjoyed watching tennis and sci-fi shows and she loved to spoil all of the family dogs. She had an unwavering love of family and a giving heart. She had the gift of gab and loved her long phone calls with her sisters. She enjoyed beach weekends away in York, Maine and spending all the time she could with her family.

Sandra was predeceased by her son Joshua and her sister Nancy Lally. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald, her daughter Stephanie Rizzo and her husband Adam, her grandchildren Aidan, Avery, Owen and Emma Rizzo and Londynn and Vienna Belanger, her sisters Sharon Krongard, Deb Casey and Kim Whitehouse, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be a private ceremony held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter.
