Sandra and I were best friends our junior and senior years of high school in Edmonds. We transferred to the same school within days of each other and became fast friends as only misfits can. She was the wittiest, most clever and interesting person I had ever met in my young life. I remember her love of Bowie, David Letterman and the perfect McDonald's cheeseburger. I am so thankful that we were able to reconnect a few years ago through Facebook and that I could add "bravest" to the list...

She was an amazing woman who had a positive impact on all who knew her. I feel so lucky for getting to explore, play and room with her in Cleveland just a few weeks ago. Her spirit and smile were infectious. The world has lost an amazing person. She will always be loved and missed.
