Hillcrest Funeral Home Burial Park & Cremations - San Antonio Obituary

Sandra Hernandez, born March 4, 1973, in San Antonio, Texas  went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2026, at the age of 53. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lydia Espino; and her father, Alfred S. Hernandez.

She is survived by her father, Gilbert Meyer; mother, Maria L. Hernandez; sons, Derek Nathan West, and Justin Ivy; brothers, Alfredo and wife Claudia, Carlos, Jesse, and Ricky; sisters, Cynthia and husband Armando, Monica and husband Felipe, Mona, Veronica, and Cathy; grandchildren, Maya Unique Ramiro West; extended family and friends.

Sandra was known for her kindness, generosity, and her heart of gold.  She was always there for so many of us, offering support, love, and a listening ear whenever it was needed.  She had the ability to remember her friends and loved ones birthdays.  She would call you a week ahead to remind you of your birthday coming up, then she would call on your birthday.  She loved being a grandma to her granddaughter Maya that she visited as much as possible in Tucson, Arizona.  Her absence is deeply felt by everyone who knew her, and we want to come together as a family to celebrate the incredible person she was. She is now at peace, and we will carry her with us always in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a 7:00 PM rosary at Hillcrest Funeral Home.

I woke up today sipping my coffee and flooded with emotions, the reality of losing you so soon and tragically is settling in. No longer will I be receiving her birthday wishes, her infectious laugh, and quirky mispronunciation of words, followed by well, I don´t know laughing at herself. No matter what you were going through, a bad day, I promise you, and any day or time wth Sandra was a good day. She loved everybody with all her heart and soul, especially her family and a small circle of...
