Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Lair(or Miss Nelson as I knew her) was a very fine teacher. I had her for English Lit Honors my senior year. As I can remember she pushed us to do our best. I always have remembered that.
After a few years I came to know her again when my mother went to work for Stan Lair Realty. I just remember a very kind lady and my prayers go out to Stan and his family now. May God bless you all.
Love, Debbie(Jones)Nevel

"Miss Nelson" was my 8th grade English teacher at U.L.Light back in 1968!! She was great, both as a teacher and a person. She made poetry interesting. I still have the notebook we were required to write and illustrate. Later, my kids had her at BHS. Mr. Lair was their principal at Portage. She was one of my favorite teachers and am sorry to hear she is gone. The Tilson Family--Patty, Timmy, Tony and Lora

Mrs. Lair was one of several teachers at BHS who profoundly impacted my life. I still remember some of John Donne's poetry because of that memorization assignment. She was a wonderful woman and my heart goes out to all of her family and friends.

Dear Tommy:

I am so sorry to hear about Sandy. We go back a long way and were great friends all through our tough days at VHS.......I just saw the obituary on the computer, please know my thoughts and prayers are with you... and I hope all is fine with you and your family...Sincerely, Yvonne Choate Harper

My condolences to the Laird family. "Miss Nelson" was very kind to me at U.L. Light.

I'm so very sad to hear of Mrs. Lair's passing and want to offer my condolences to her family. I went to school in Barberton and had "Miss Nelson" (as she was known in those days) as a teacher both at UL Light and BHS. She was such a positive influence in my life - she always believed in me at times when I felt no one else did, and always gave me much needed encouragement and validation. This world is a better place for having had her here, and I am a better person for having known her. She...

Sandy and I go back to 1964 when I met her, playing the organ at Bethany during Holy Week. Although distance separated us over the years, I never forgot the fun times we had together. What a wonderful person - and I was privilaged to have known her. Our thoughts and our prayers go out to Stan and family.

I was a friend of Sandy's in high school. We both graduated in 1959. Our son lives in Akron and I visited with Sandy a couple of years ago. My sympathy and prayers go out to the family.
