Not sure what to say?

The Peace Corps Iran Association is saddened to hear of Sandra's death. A notice of her passing will be included in an upcoming issue of our newsletter KhabarNameh which reaches out to volunteers and staff who served with the Peace Corps in Iran from 1962 to 1976. On behalf of the Peace Corps Iran community, especially friends that she and Chris made during their time in Iran, we extend our deepest sympathies.

She always knew who stole the candy and licorice in her classroom, I loved it when she told us stories in class… Yes maybe I fell asleep a time or two during the stories. She was one of our most impactful teachers, and amazing mentor and just a great person. Her memory will reverberate do the entire school forever.

A remarkable woman and family.
Her spirit will remain with us.

Chris and family- Mike and I are so sorry for your loss. Sandy truly added to the life of many students and those who knew her. Our thoughts are with you.

Prayers and thoughts are with you

Chris, Simon, and Matt: I remember sitting at the pool with Sandy, watching Shanynn and Simon play in the pool, Shanynn sleeping over at your place. I remember sitting and visiting with her, talking for hours about life, kids, work, everything. She has a special place in my heart and I am better for having known her. Martha Howard

Chris and Family...we are so sorry to hear of Sandy's passing, although our kids had told us she was seriously ill. We remember when the folks in Lone Pine used to confuse us with you guys 40 plus years ago! Thanks for the good times and good memories..may eternal light shine on Sandy. Harry and Susan Holgate
