McCARTY, Sandra Rae - Of Flint, age 65, died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 12Noon Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Tennison R. Barry II officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family. Visitation 10AM Saturday until the time of service at the funeral home. Sandra was born in Flint, Michigan on April 5, 1943, the daughter of Fred and Beatrice Labombard. She married Tolman (Mac) McCarty. Surviving are husband, Mac; sons, Ray (Valery), Jeff (Jami) and David (Kathy); daughters, Vesta, Debra (Dan), Nancy (Ray), Vicki-Dale and Keri; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters, Evyonne (Mike), Zachary, Kathy (Marc) Prevette and Cindy Venters, sister-in-law, Cheryl Labombard; family and friends. Thank you mom for giving me the chance to be your daughter. I wasn't perfect but you loved me unconditionally. I am going to miss your teasing and laughing. I am glad that your not hurting anymore and that you are still watching over me. Thank you mom.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
