SANDRA LYNN RIOS
June 21, 1958 – October 31, 2016

It is with sad and heavy hearts that the husband and daughters of Sandra Lynn Ríos announce the passing of their beloved wife, mother, and "Bula" on October 31, 2016 at the young age of 58.

She was born on June 21, 1958 and raised in Laredo, Texas. It was here that she met the love of her life, her "amor," José Anselmo Ríos. Together, they raised a beautiful family and enjoyed many years of wedded bliss. They would have celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on November 12.

Our wife and mother was an incredibly caring and loving woman who always put others before herself. She devoted everything she had to her husband, two daughters, and five grandchildren.

Her caring and loving nature transcended into her twenty-eight yearlong career with the Laredo Independent School District where she was a beloved teacher at Zachry Elementary School. Her contributions to the field of education will be her legacy, given the many lives she touched as a teacher, colleague, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her father, Allen E. Jarrell, Sr.; mother, Rosa S. Jarrell; brother, Steven Allen Jarrell; sister, Rosa Linda Zermeño; father-in-law, Rodolfo V. Ríos; and mother-in-law, Estefana M. Ríos.

Missing her dearly will be her husband, José Anselmo Ríos; daughters, Christie Lynn (Martín) Hernández and Stephanie (Louie) Aguilar; siblings, Gloria (José) Meza, David (Patricia) Jarrell, Donna (Mario) Rodríguez, Gordon (Rosario) Jarrell, and Allen E. (Dora) Jarrell, Jr.

Also surviving her are her beloved grandchildren, Jerremy Allen Ramírez; Devin Martin and Christa Lynn Hernández; and Bettie Doriane and Dillan Judas Aguilar.

She will be dearly loved and greatly missed forever and always.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 03, 2016 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, where the Rosary and Vigil will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral procession will depart on Friday, November 04, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m.

Interment will then follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

You may express you condolences and sign the guestbook online at: www.joejacksonfuneralchapels.com

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the funeral service professionals at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd., Laredo, Texas 78041; (956)722-8850.

Not sure what to say?

Time has passed but you will always be remembered

I miss you sister, Life is not the same, God has called on you for a reason and it is his will. I know you are awaiting for all those you love and loved. Your brothers and sisters are growing old and seem to be healthy. Your daughters are growing into mature responsible women. Your grand babies are growing so fast and of course you know your first grandson Jeremy is married and has a family on his own. You would be proud my sister.

God bless you forever and I will be around to...

Sandra was my sister who showed wonderful emotions and always what she was thinking or feeling. We all miss her very much and know she is at peace and strolling over heaven with our parents, sister Linda and our youngest daughter Elizabeth. Her daughters Stephanie and Christie are good mothers and her son in laws are living life as they should.

Sandy, May God be with you and we shall see you and be with you someday soon. Sandy husband Joe is missing her very much and left him way...

She is not gone she will be forever in our minds.

Sandra, not a day goes by without you in my heart and in my thoughts. I miss you terribly. Love you always.

Our dearest sister, you are consistently in our thoughts, tears, and prayers as days pass us by on this earth. So many times we have listened to a video you had done with mom at her room in Laredo nursing center during Xmas time. We hear your voice as you visit mom. We treasure that video. We miss very much!! Rest in peace.

Love, Gloria and Joe Meza

Dear sister, we have gone thru the first holiday season without you and it will never be the same as years go by. We are losing family and now they are eternally peaceful but yet our loss and our pain and our tears are here on this Earth for those who remain. We love you very much and miss you dearly sister. Big sister Gloria and big brother Joe.

A beautiful person both inside and out. Always looked out for others, without asking anything in return. Gave many friends warm hugs and beautiful words of encouragement. Wonderful teacher who gave students wonderful experiences they will never forget. A precious friend who always kept in touch. I will miss you dearly.
