Sandra M. Shapiro

I have only learned of Sandra's death nearly a year after her passing away. I was Sandra's professor and advisor when she matriculated in historic preservation at Eastern Michigan University in 1979-1981. I found her to be a charming, direct woman possessed of one of the sharpest minds I have encountered among my years as a professor. I admired her both as a person and a scholar who participated fully in the pleasures and challenges of life.

I worked with Sandra years ago when she had an office at Wright State University. I enjoyed her company so much; she was such a good person, so bright and optimistic. The photo is exactly as I remembered her. I am so sorry to hear of her illness and her passing.
