Sandra Koneski Sheffield

Sandra Koneski Sheffield, 83, of Orange, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at Dogwood Village of Orange.

She was born January 21, 1926, in Limerick, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late George and Joanna Kinger Koneski. She was also predeceased by her husband, Frederick Sheffield; two brothers, Edward and Walter Koneski; a sister, Helen Koneski; and her grandson, Duane S. Cooke.

She was a member of the Blue Run Baptist Church in Somerset, Virginia, and had been an active member of the choir and WMU.

Mrs. Sheffield is survived by a sister; Sophia Judy Pacana of Homassa, Florida; a brother, Joseph Koneski and wife, Shirley, of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania; her daughter, Georgeann S. Cooke and her spouse, Larry, of Orange; two granddaughters, Sheila C. Barbera and her spouse, Paul, of Elderburg, Maryland; and Georgina M. Cooke of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Dylan Barbera of Eldersburg.

A memorial graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2009, at the Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery on Birmingham Road in Westchester, Pennsylvania, with Pastor Bill Horton officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Rapidan, P.O. Box 1715, Culpeper, VA 22701.
