STANLEY, Sandra Harmon. Sandy departed this life on September 24, 2012. In some regard, Sandy took care of other people most of her life, always putting them first, never thinking of herself. Her generosity and hospitality at her home in Midlothian as well as Deltaville were immeasurable. Sandy opened her homes to her family, friends and even "passers-by" in life. She was a wonderful cook and could instantaneously prepare a meal for those of us that just dropped by and make it feel as if it were a planned occasion. Her quick wit, intelligence and humor were enjoyed by anyone that met her. She was talented and productive. Throughout her life, she spent early mornings knitting or crocheting blankets for those of us she loved, our children and grandchildren. There has never been a more thoughtful or kind person than Sandy. She listened intently to whatever dreams, successes, joys or problems one may have, never judgmental. She was unique. Our dear mother, sister and friend will be forever in our thoughts and prayers. We will think of her first when we see the stars in the sky and the moon shimmering on the bay in her beautiful Deltaville. She is loved. A service will not be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Middlesex Fire Department.
