YAKLIN, Sandra L. Of Grand Blanc, age 66, died Thursday, June 23, 2016 at University Hospital in Ann Arbor. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Father Gary Koenigsknecht officiating. Cremation will take place following the Mass. Contributions may be made to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Flint or Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation 2-6pm Sunday and 4-8pm Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Tuesday at church until the time of the Mass. Sandy was born in Flint on March 11, 1950 the daughter of Harold and Barbara (Lane) Brotherton. On January 23, 1971, she married Bob Yaklin at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Sandy was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She worked at the Flint Journal and retired in 2005. Sandy enjoyed golfing, sewing, cooking and also loved to remodel and build things. She always put everyone else first and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Sandy and Bob enjoyed vacationing with their grandchildren. Sandy also enjoyed her vacations in Florida. Surviving are husband, Bob; daughter, Coby Yaklin; grandchildren, Carl, Samuel, Nathan and Katelyn; mother, Barbara Glassburn; sisters, Pat Staab and Gerri Brotherton; niece, Amy Dawson and nephews, Christopher Lawcock and Daniel Staab. I miss you and Bob so very much. We always had so much fun together ! I hope you both are having a great time in heaven!

Not a day goes by when I don't think about you and Bob! You both were such great friends ever since 7th grade! (Sandy was my friend first; I met Bob later)! I miss you both so much. I hope both of you have come into contact with my entire family and are having a great party together in heaven! Love and miss you!
