Not sure what to say?

My professor at SUNY Oswego and my inspiration to major in English and to complete my graduate degrees. The best professor ever, and one of the best people I've ever met.

Sanford was a scholar and a gentleman. I only met him once, in Syracuse in 2007, but I had been reading his work a long time before and will continue to read it for long after. He wrote an authors and contexts that deserves more attention, and he gave that attention to them with fidelity and with copiousness. My condolences to Mary Beth, and all his family, friends, and colleagues

Sandy was my neighbor for nearly 2O years. We also shared experiences in the Navy. I have several of his books. Sandy was a great educator and writer. I remember him fondly.

I am writing a book and was recounting the incredible time I had with Sandy in Ireland as a graduate student. He was a kind and generous man. All these years later, I cherish those experiences with him.

Daniel - I´m so sorry to read of your dad´s passing. My mother passed eight days after your dad - my heart goes out to you and your family. I know he was a huge presence in your life and, from reading the comments here, he was very well liked and respected. Again, my condolences on such a tremendous loss. Karen (Evanoff) Blevins, San Diego

Sandy was a lovely, erudite man. He came to the Abbey Theatre Dublin every summer and I had the pleasure of giving his students a tour and a talk. A sad loss to us all.

I´m so sorry to hear of Sandy´s passing. He and I shared many wonderful times when I attended SUNY at Oswego years ago.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Sternlicht's passing. As an SU alum, I still remember fondly the classes I took from him, his wealth of knowledge, his interesting and insightful feedback and critiques on my papers, his encouragement when I started graduate school at SU and shared with him my nervousness being a new TA, his understanding and flexibility with me as a non-traditional undergrad student who had a whole life and family with four children (at the time) trying to also tackle college....

Please except my deepest sympathies to you and your family at this time of grieving. May God be with you and your family in this time of sorrow.
