Sara Margaret (Mullooly) Maupin
Sara Margaret (Mullooly) Maupin, 77, of Crozet, Va., passed away peacefully on January 9, 2021.
Sara was born on November 14, 1943, in Weston, W.Va., to the late Joseph F. Mullooly and Margaret "Peg" Mullooly. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers, Joseph "Dobie" Mullooly and Edward "Ed" Mullooly.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Michael Maupin, wife, Helen Maupin and grandchildren, Grace and Liam Maupin; stepsons, James "Zip" Maupin, wife, Alison Maupin and children, Emily and Will Maupin, and Danny Maupin and Donna Dabney.
Sara opened Crozet Beauty Salon in 1969. After a brief retirement, she came back to work at the salon for many years where she made lifelong friendships with all that came into her salon.
Sara was a devout Catholic who found strength in her religion. She leaves a legacy of hospitality, kindness, thoughtfulness, grace and the love of her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Methodist Church in White Hall, Va.
Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Sara was a sweet neighbor. I often bumped into her when we were both walking our dogs. She enjoyed talking to me about home state of West Virginia, as she knew my daughter was attending WVU. Sincere condolences to her family.

As a kid , loved coming up to Whitehall to visit Sara , little Michael , and Jimmy . Always a good time , good food , accompanied with little blue grass. Condolences to Michael and the Maupin Family .

Sara was one of the most down-to-earth people I've known. She was always soft spoken and I remember her as a true friend. I am sorry to learn of her death and wish for her family the true blessings of having had Sara as a mother.
