RITCHIE, Sara Paige, 30, of Richmond, after a lifelong struggle, found peace on November 28, 2010. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Irene Ritchie; and grandfather, Joseph Awad. Sara is survived by her adoring, loving family: parents, Robert B. and Jeannie Awad Ritchie; sister, Amy Marie Ritchie; brothers, Robert B. "Burt" Ritchie III and Joseph Brian "Rip" Ritchie; and her devoted grandmother, Doris C. Awad. Sara is also survived by her special confidant, Dr. Linda Seeman; and a large extended family, which includes many "favorite" aunts, uncles and cousins. Sara will be missed by all that have had the privilege to know her zest for life and love of people. We remember her joy for birthdays, books, yawns, phone calls, 80's music and her dog, Jack. Though she will always be in our hearts, Sara walks in Heaven. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., where a funeral service will be held 12 noon Wednesday, followed by interment in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
This obituary was originally published in the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Our thought and prayers are with you as you deal with the sudden loss of Sara. She was always a special person and it was a highlight of the day to come and visit with her. We will always remember her infectious smile and her ability to remeber birthdays. She was a really special young lady. Gary & Betty Stadnick

I am sorry to hear about Sara's passing. She did indeed seem to share the Ritchie family zest for life. Every time I saw her she always had a smile on her face and seemed so genuinely happy. My heart goes out you.
