My husband, John, and I worked with Sara at Bement for 2 years. I taught 3rd Grade in the Lower School along with Sara. I was somewhat new to teaching back in the early 1980´s and Sara was a wonderful mentor and role model. She was smart, funny, very committed to the students, patient, creative, accessible, and extremely modest. I loved working with her. I recall visiting Sara's plans for a school. She was genuinely interested in the intellectual and spiritual education of children.

Sara was a warm, kind, exceptional person. I knew her from Bement school in the 80's/90's. She was a treasure to the students and families that knew her. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all.

I worked with Sara at Bement. I remember her smile, laugh and bubbly personality. I always remember our summer lunches and conversations. Sara was a wonderful person and will be missed. My sympathy and prayers are with Don and family.
