Corridan Funeral Home - Chicopee Obituary

East Longmeadow- Sarah E. (Tatum) Bourbeau, 76, passed away at home on March 21, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Elizabethtown, NC on November 12, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Grady C. and Ruthie Mae (Smith) Tatum.  Although not a native of Massachusetts, Sarah moved here to raise her family and worked for many years at Mass Mutual and UniCARE.  Upon retiring, she moved back to her small hometown, where she enjoyed cooking for family and friends, reminiscing with her siblings over a glass of sweet tea, and her brother Jimmie's Sunday sermons.  Recently, Sarah moved back to Massachusetts to spend more time with her daughters and grandchildren, who will all miss her dearly.  In addition to her parents, Sarah was also predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Bourbeau (2015) and a brother, Jimmie Tatum.  She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Ann Narreau and her husband, David, of E. Longmeadow, and Gina Clark and her husband, Warren, of Springfield.  She also leaves her 5 grandchildren, Michael, Domenique, Carm, Jr., Averie, and Alek, her 2 great-grandchildren Noah and Micah, and her sister Sandra Stanley and brothers Marvin, Edward, and Grady Tatum, Jr.  Calling hours for Sarah will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee, MA.  Sarah will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Arlington National Cemetery.  To share a memory or to leave your condolences for the family, please visit www.CorridanFuneral.com

Not sure what to say?

Sincere condolences to the entire family especially Sherri, David, Avery & also Alek Narreau

It's sad that our family and friends are leaving us and now Sarah has joined that growing list. Father time has a way of reminding us that God has already selected the time and day for each of us to leave this earth. After high school, we went our separate ways. Some chose to stay here in Elizabethtown and others can be found all over this country. Sarah was no exception and was destined to find her happiness in the state of Massachusetts. She was loved by many and will be missed by all that...

So sorry to hear of the passing of Sarah, beloved classmate and friend!

It saddens me still to know of Sarah’s passing. I would have loved to give her a hug and tell her I love her. Sarah was a classmate for twelve years at Elizabethtown School, we were in church together, and she was a paternal cousin. May God continue to bless you richly with His peace, comfort, and joy.
