Sarah Jane "Janie" Castles

Janie has been a constant in my life as a mentor and dear friend. Her kindness touched all she knew. Janie inspired us to reach out to those less represented as she embraced the struggle to make her community a space for peace and action to do better. Her passion for Early Childhood Education defined such a personal involvement and her teaching contributed to the lives and growth of students and families. A life well lived and well loved my deepest condolences to Barry and Devin and family.

Dear Barry and Devin and Halley, Janie, A Beautiful Person, I will miss her sorely whenever we gather for community environmental and social justice events - she was always there, always positive and enthusiastic. My heart goes out to you and the entire family.

My heart goes out to Barry and Devin and Halley she loved you all so much. My memories of Janie are all good. She was a remarkable human being. So devoted to making the world a better place and she touched so many lives. My memories of singing and laughing and just being with her are flooding my mind right now and I cannot believe she is gone. The world has lost such a wonderfully beautiful soul. A devoted wife , mother and friend.She will hold a place in all of our hearts forever.
