Pittsburg Funeral Chapel - Pittsburg Obituary

Sarah passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 7, 2015, with her family gathered at her bedside. Sarah was 91 years old and a native of Pittsburg, CA and a resident of Antioch, CA for 19 years. She was preceded in death by her Pittsburg High School sweetheart 7 years ago, Vincent Enea; her parents, Frank and Rose Aiello, and all of her loving siblings. She is survived by her daughters: Frances (Craig) Adami and Rose (Robert) Stevens; grandchildren: Colleen (John) Ariente, Diane (Mark) Leese, Joseph Kelly, Bobby Stevens; great-grandchildren: Gianna, Ava, and Jonathan. Her family meant the world to her and she loved visits and gatherings with them. Her daily phone calls will be missed beyond measure. She was a dedicated employee of Southern Pacific Railroad and well known as the Pittsburg High School library clerk for many years. She enjoyed Frank Sinatra, was an avid fan of the SF Giants and St. Mary's basketball team, loved reading magazines and doing crossword puzzles, playing bingo, cooking, shopping, and saying her prayers faithfully each night. She enjoyed the Elks Club, the Italian Catholic Federation, and everyone looked forward to her yearly Italian cookies at Christmas.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 5pm followed by a Vigil at 7pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 10:30am at Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Antioch. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.

Not sure what to say?

Rose,
I am very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I am lifting you and your family up in prayer. May you feel the embrace of Mary and all the Saints, along with the support of family and friends.

Sarah was a sweet lady. The thing I remember about her the most is, she never had a hair out of place and her makeup was always impeccable! (even as she aged). My condolences to the family and her dear friends.

Dear Rose,
Our deepest sympathies on the loss of your Mom. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.
Love Always.

My deep condolence to the family in this time of sorrow .

Our deepest sympathies...
