I was Sally's fellow grad student and sometime roommate at Cornell in the early 1970s. Together we drove her car from New York to Panama to study bats at the Smithsonian Institution field station and had many adventures helping one another on our research projects. Sally was a great research partner and roommate--smart, cheerful, and a focused worker. I'm privileged to have known her during this period and happy to know that she went on to live her life fully.
