Not sure what to say?

Sarah was a gift from above to me when I needed it. She gave me a job as a cook at Grey Gables. That opportunity helped me find my career. I will always remember her as a very giving, wonderful and understanding person.

I'm so sorry to hear about Sarah Hedgpeth! She was such a gracious, lovely lady. I was friends with her son Richard during high school years, and when I moved back to Wilmington at the age of 19, Sarah hired me to work at Gray Gables. The two years I spent there paid all of my expenses and tuition for two years at UNCW! I was living on the Beach when they opened the Trolley Stop for Richard and Rhonda. After graduation I got married and moved away, but whenever I came back I would stop by...

I learned of Mrs. Hedgpeth's passing when her granddaughter stopped by our home which was built by BC and Sarah. She and her husband, made my wedding remarkable! I was in the middle of exams at UNC-W, excited about our upcoming wedding, with reception @Gray Gables, when I received a call, from the Hedgepeths, that it had burned down, 2 days before our wedding. They went far and beyond, still had reception on the lawn of Gray Gables on a beautiful day! They were wonderful people and so talented. May they rest in peace.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Sarah will always be remembered for all the wonderful things she has done for many many years at Wrightsville beach . She was such a wonderful lady and will always be in all of our hearts . Love and prayers to you and your family.
