Sarah Herriot

As a Cubberley graduate (class of '61) I have a vivid memory of "Mrs. Herriot"--her flaming red hair, high energy, lively spirit, and enthusiasm for math. She inspired in me a life-long love of the subject. I still have my set of SMSG "text books" (stapled, with blue covers) which I refer to from time to time. Thank you Mrs. Herriot!

Sally Herriot was one of first colleagues I met when I began teaching math back at Paly. She had a great way of challenging students so they could see what they were able to do.

She loved skiing, and she loved her opera. She will be missed.

Dr.Herriot was my calculus teacher at Cubberley HS 1968-69. She traveled from Gunn HS each afternoon just to teach our class. We enjoyed her patience, sense of humor and exotic southern accent. An inspiration to all including the 50% of the class which were girls. I know at least two girls in the class went onto to major in Math. I studied economics, but now my son is studying maths at university.
My condolences to the family but she is remembered all these year as one of my favorite HS...
