1940 - 2014

1940-2014 Beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many, Sarah "Sally" Jacobsen passed away June 25, 2014, after an 18-year courageous battle with breast cancer. Sally was born in Bellingham, Wash., October 23, 1940, to Ralph and Carol Marshall. After several family moves, Sally's family settled in Seattle where she graduated from Queen Anne High School. Shortly after high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Gudmund Egill "Red" Jacobsen. Sally began working as a personal assistant to George Bartell, owner of the Bartell Drugs chain. She worked as an office manager in several businesses, until becoming a financial advisor, serving dozens of Puget Sound families. She and her son climbed to be one of the top ten offices nationally for Transamerica. She and her husband, Red, also developed two award-winning commercial buildings in Mill Creek's Town Center. Above all, Sally loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and lived it fully as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many church leadership and teaching roles, touching the lives of countless youth and adults. Sally leaves a legacy of family and numerous friends whose lives were blessed and inspired by her loving, strong, and generous soul. Sally is survived by her son, Eric (and Lisa) Jacobsen, three grand-daughters, and several foster children. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11001 Harbour Pointe Blvd, Mukilteo.
