MONCURE, Sarah Lee Sharp, 79, of Richmond, died September 25, 2010. She was the daughter of the late John Sharp and Virginia Giesen Dinker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William Bigbie Moncure. She is survived by her sons, William B. Moncure Jr., John C.S. Moncure and his wife, Laurie, and A. Scott Moncure and his wife, Virginia; grandchildren, William, Conner, Mary Lee and Katie Lynne. Sarah Lee loved spending her time with friends and family at "Tempus Fugit" on the Rappahannock "Rivah." She was a member of St. James's Episcopal Church. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. James's Episcopal Church, 2505 W. Franklin St. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Upper Middlesex Volunteer Fire Dept., 4883 Water View Rd., Water View, Va. 23180.

I see my sister Beth's comments and ditto everything she said. Your mom was a very special lady. I have so many wonderful West Ave. memories of the Moncure family. Love to you all.

Scott, Billy, John and family, the Fleming/Skidmore Clan send our condolences to all of you. It is so sad to lose our parents, and unfortunately it is a sign of the time as they age. When I told my mother, she was devastated that another one of her good buddies from the Avenue had passed away. Sarah Lee was a source of love and strength for so many. She and Bill and the boys became a second family during my teenage years, and I am indebted to all of them for their support. You are in my prayers. I will miss her, too.

Sara was the nicest neighbor and friend anyone could hope to have. Many fond rivah memories of her still dance through my head. She will be greatly missed!

Sara was such a devoted wife and mother. She was loved and adored by her three wonderful children and all her cousins. She is now up in heaven and smiling down on all her love ones.
