I am the aunt of Micah Carillo and I have known Sarah by the loving praises of her by Micah's parents. Even this far away from Denver, I have been touched by her spirit, just by hearing her name. She is a powerful,loving soul who played full out every day of her life. She knew her disease, she knew her chances and she was willing to take risks in order to have life. My memories of Sarah are all of her during a time when she was a beautiful baby - during her infant and toddler years. Although I had cared for other youngsters with CF in Texas, Sarah was about the first infant that I had cared for with it, certainly in Colorado. It proved to be a humbling experience for me, and a learning experience for me and her mother and father - all of us also having been much younger then as well.
