I am saddened to learn about Sonny's illness and death. He and I were "office neighbors" at UT Martin, and Sonny always made things more fun -- even faculty meetings! My thoughts and prayers are with the beautiful ladies his life revolved around, Kris, Helga, and Sara.

Sonny was such a good man and I feel privileged to have known him and worked with him. Sonny has had a major impact on my life and career. My heartfelt condolences to the family. I will truly miss my dear friend, Sonny. I will miss his laughter and his zest for living. It's hard to believe that he's gone. Yet, he will remain with us who knew him.
I met Sonny in 1971 as we were both heading to Iceland during our service in the U.S Navy. We remained in contact through the years, sharing life's joys and challenges as we both became fathers and grandfathers.
Our deepest sympathy to Kris, Helga, Sara and families for their great loss.
