Not sure what to say?

During the course of my two year tenure at the Mult. Athletic Club as an Entry Attendant, it was always both an honor, and a pleasure greeting Mr. Zaik at the fourth fl. garage entry. He always made it a point to stop, and converse with me about the subject of architecture as he both recognized, and appreciated my interest in the subject. He was both a fine man, very approachable, and highly intelligent. I always will cherish the memory of our conversations.

My first job after graduating from U of O in architecture was with Zaik Miller. 40 years later I have the greatest respect for Saul and have referenced his beautiful work many times. I have come to learn his work was by any measure the most influence in my life. I lived in a meadow house at the age of 19 not knowing I would later be given such a gift to be working in his office.
Saul was very kind, funny, quirky and the most talented person I have had the pleasure to learn from.

He was a very fine person, Saul Zaik. I came to know him through the Multnomah Athletic Club. He is fortunate in that he did not have to deal with Covid 19. Rest in peace.

I just now learned of Saul's passing almost 8 months later. I live in a Zaik/Miller designed cabin in Sunriver. I was tickled when I learned after closing on my home that his fingerprints were all over this cabin that I love. I called him and told him about my lucky purchase. He congratulated me on my good sense.
I think his imprint on northwest architecture will continue, as it should. My condolences go Chris and Peter and Tracy.

Saul designed a house for us in Lake Oswego.
During the entire process he guided us in creating a wonderful space for our growing family.
We are grateful for his vision, his humor and his determination. He stood firm when he felt compromise would affect the design, but yielded when he could.
His talents remain in the spaces he created. They are tributes encompassing space, proportion, balance, rhythm and harmony.
My husband and I treasure our memories.
Our love and...

I very much enjoyed our friendship over all the years. Sorry for your loss.
