Sawyer was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on February 7th, 2006, to Anise and Matthew Mulkey. She was a student at Ponder High School where she played volleyball.  She also played club volleyball for five years – four years for North Point Volleyball in Denton and this year for Skyline Juniors Volleyball Club in Carrollton.

Sawyer had a larger-than-life spirit and a smile that could change the course of your day.  She had a way with words – she would talk to you all day if you would listen.

She loved spending time with friends and family, big bear hugs, her playlists for every occasion, traveling to new places and offering good advice.  She was an animal lover – often stopping to pet your dog before greeting you.

Sawyer will also be remembered for her wit and her playful sense of humor – forcing her teammates or her siblings to smell her knee pads and eating ice cream before practice even though she was lactose intolerant.

Sawyer is survived by her mother Anise Mulkey of Ponder; big brother Charlie Bruce and girlfriend Preslie Box of Little Elm; sister and best friend Harper Mulkey and boyfriend Mason Harwell of Ponder; father Matthew Mulkey of Argyle; grandparents Wayne and Charlsa Northcutt of Krum; grandmother Louise Mulkey of Panhandle; aunts and uncles; Tracy and Tim Zimmerman of Ponder, Trey and Jacqueline Northcutt of Ponder, Steven and Sara Hightower of Amarillo, Whitney and Kyle Ball of Amarillo, Jeremy and Mande Mulkey of Amarillo; cousins Hanna Zimmerman of Ponder, Cecily and Joseph Northcutt of Ponder, Robert, Ashley, Rilee, Carysn and Jake Hightower of Amarillo, Hudson Ball of Amarillo, Caitlyn Mulkey of Amarillo; and many more loving family members and friends.

Sawyer was preceded in death by her grandfather Robert J. Mulkey.
