Second Day in a New Job
In June, Scott C. Vasel, 32, moved into a new home in Park Ridge, N.J., with his wife, Amy, and his two sons, Ryan, 4, and Matthew, 2. Then he took the summer off to spend it with his family - at the zoo, at the beach, in Vermont. And on Sept. 10 he started a job at the World Trade Center as a disaster recovery specialist with Marsh & McLennan, the insurance brokerage company.
"He said he had a great cubicle right against the window and he could see a great view of the Hudson," said Jenny Frantin, his sister-in-law. "He was looking forward to the job. They had a great summer and he was ready."
Now Mr. Vasel's new neighbors on Pine Drive have stood by his family. They have brought over food, hired a cleaning woman and a lawn service, offered to baby-sit and shop. "They're making dinners from here through Thanksgiving," Ms. Frantin said.
The neighbors set aside a spot in the grass for a shrine with candles and flowers. They also put up a flag-shaped wooden sign. "God Bless America and Our Neighbor," it reads.
Hey Scott, can't believe 15 years have gone by. You have not been forgotten. Very fortunate to have known you and your witty sense of humor. Today, your memory is honored.

Honoring a brother on Memorial Day
We visited the 9/11 memorial site for the first time since the tragedy and was sadden by the loss of so many innocent individuals. Nothing prepares you for the feeling until you are actually there and see it in person. I personally didn't know Scott C. Vasil but I placed a flag over his name to honor him on this Memorial Day. After doing some research when we got home, we learn so much from Scott and how he was loved by so many. God bless the Vasel family. God bless America

Vielleicht waren wir verwandt ohne es zu wissen. Opa und Oma waren die verstorbenen Karl Vasel und Adele Vasel, geb. Backmeier. Sie lebten in Norddeutschland..

I did not know Scott but we recently cleaned out our grandparents house after my grandmother passsed away and my grandfather was moved to a nursing home, while going through my grandmother's belongings I found a braclet called a Mercy Band that she bought through Franklin Graham and it has Scott C. Vasel WTC on it. I am guessing that this is the right person. If any member of his family would like this band please contact me at my email [email protected] thank you and god bless.

I worked with Scott at Banco Popular. He would always stop by my cubicle to chat for a few minutes. He always spoke of his wife and his boys. He was a proud husband and father. RiP Scott.

It has been 10 years since. I am reminded of growing up with you. Reading the comments brings me back to the days of wiffle ball in your driveway, working on your first moped in your garage. Football in your street. I had to smile when you brought me to see the infamous secret motorcycle kept a neighbors house. We met 30 years ago and i havent seen you in 20, but i will never forget you. God bless your sweet family and your soul.
