Fond and caring brother of Debbi (Don) Brown-Hood and Michael (Julia) Brown. Cherished uncle of Candace, Justin, Jessi, Jenalea and Maylin. Son-in-law of Donald Young and Kenneth Bunch. Scott enjoyed everything about the outdoors like camping, fishing, and four wheeling. His family and friends were very important to him, and he loved to spend time with them around a campfire, or watching his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers. He really enjoyed driving his Jeep on the beaches of North Carolina. He loved the mountains of Colorado where his mom, sister and brother live. Scott joined the Army and became a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division in North Carolina; He attained the rank of E-7. Leading from the front, SFC Brown set the example for his troopers who followed with respect for a man who accepted nothing less than their best. Scott was always humble about his job and didn't like to be considered a hero. He said, "I am just doing my job for my country so my family can live in a land of freedom." Scott married Delilah before being deployed again to serve in Afghanistan and two more tours in Iraq. He always said "There is no where like the good ole' United States of America." Scott was very proud and committed to his job as a Platoon Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne. To the family and friends of Sgt. 1st Class Scott J. Brown:
It has truly been my honor to sign Scott's guest book these past few years. Unfortunately, due to complications from my Multiple Sclerosis, this may be the last message I'm able to write. Please forgive me and know that Scott will always be remembered in my home.
