Send Flowers

When his daughter was born on July 31, Sgt. Scott C. Rose couldn''t hold her. But a Web camera allowed the soldier, serving in Iraq, to watch Megan Louise fussing and cooing thousands of miles away at Fort Campbell. Rose was looking forward to his next assignment _ teaching crew chiefs in Fort Eustis, Va. He would be able to meet Megan Louise in person and be near his wife. Rose, 30, of Fayetteville, N.C., died Nov. 7 when the Black Hawk helicopter he was riding crashed near Tikrit, Iraq. Michele Rose had found a perfect Southern gentleman in Scott, her mother, Paula Basso, said, describing him as friendly, thoughtful and quiet. The couple met at North Carolina State University. "I could not be more proud of a son," said his father, retired Lt. Col. Alfred "Butch" Rose. "When I looked at what he did, I could not have done what he did. He was better than me."

We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Well hi! My name is Lacey Fox and I am doing an assignment for my 4th period history class for Veterans Day. I am a senior at Winfield City High School in Alabama who is hyper 99% of the time and serious 0%! I always listen to rock music and even play trombone at my school. I always appreciate what the millitary does for us. I am a clumbsy and hyper fool that I wouldnt be able to even go to the millitary. I really hope someone sees this and sees how important not only this mans life...

Thank you for your service & sacrifice for our country.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you...
