Not sure what to say?

Mr. Callaway was an awesome person and a great influence on all that passed through his life. We will never forget you! God bless your family! Thanks for all the great memories!

Mr. Callaway ranks number 1 on my list of influencial people. He was a great teacher and a fantastic band director.Because of him, I became a teacher, but even more important because of him, I am a better person. He taught me the lessons of self-discipline and the attitude of "never give up." He gave me a passion and appreciation for all genres of music. He demonstrated a caring for us band students that was not just teacher duty.Yet, Mr. Callaway was so humble. He always wanted us to recognize...

I AM VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. MR CALLAWAY WAS A GREAT MAN. I WILL ALWAYS HAVE FOND MEMORIES OF HIM IN BAND, AND MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU.

My deepest sympathy to the Callaway family. Mr. Callaway was a champion among band directors. I was privileged to be under his tutelage from 1970-1972. He was a great teacher--strict, but fair. I pray that you feel God's presence with you now and in the days ahead.

I taught 8th and 9th grade band at ECJH in the 80s. Scott Callaway was a great mentor and a dear friend. The lives he has touched and influenced was and still is an inspiration to me. My deepest sympathies to his wife Bernice, surviving family, and those who hold his memory dear. A special soul has gone to glory.

Mr. Callaway was an icon for the Elizabeth City school system and the music/band program. Even though we currently have (Wayne James) and have had (David Albert) great directors, NO ONE will ever replace Mr. Callaway. He was a great teacher and even a better person. His caring nature and tough love were very much appreciated...now more than ever. He was one of the reasons I became a teacher. We have all suffered a great loss. All my thoughts and prayers go to the Callaway family. He...

I am very saddened by the passing of Mr. Scott Calloway. He was a certainly a positive influence in my young life and I always admired his commitment, firmness and guidance. He will be missed and fondly remembered by so many of us, that reflect on our time with him. He was so talented and we all are fortunate, that he shared his passion for music with us. Godspeed old friend.

Music was secondary to his caring for the young people he influenced. Many have gone on to be great citizens because of his guidance. He recognized musical talent, but also recognized that not everyone was a musician. All the same, he treated all his student with respect and in turn, we all respected him. A great teacher and humanitarian.

Mr. Callaway was the best teacher I ever had. I always try to remember the high expectations, kindness, and respect he showed us when I teach my own students.
