Not sure what to say?

To the Carter family. My husband and I use to run crew with Scott at Valley Ambulance. He was fun to be with, and calming to the patients. He will be missed by many. Sorry for your loss.

When my husband and I first came to look at Sewickley Academy, the tour guide was Kendra Carter. She was wonderful at her job!

When I finally had reason to deal with her father, I understood it ran in the family. This man helped the Eichleay family immeasurably in negotiating high school and then the college application process. He was a continuing voice of calm to an agitated parent. He took a very active interest in all his students and took great pains in presenting them in his...

You have my condolences. Scott helped so many SA graduates pursue their dreams.

A sad goodbye to a lovely man and valued colleague, from whom one could always expect understanding, fairness, empathy, and a helping hand.

Dear Joan and family,
Scott was a wonderful human being in every way. I had the pleasure of knowing Scott during our mutual involvement in PACAC, an organization he served with vigor and passion. My heart goes out to you.

We are sorry to learn of the passing of Scott, but grateful for his service to our nation with the Peace Corps in Ghana.

Our Condolences,
The National Peace Corps Association

I'm very sorry to hear about Mr. Carter's passing. I'd like to share a small, happy memory that shows how kind and smart a man he was. In the 10th grade, I broke my right arm and had difficulty writing quickly. Mr. Carter generously volunteered to assist me by being my hands, so to speak, and transcribing answers as I said them. He clearly had mastered high school chemistry, because whenever I started saying an incorrect answer, he couldn't hide a wince or slight hesitation as he wrote. It...

Joan & family: I just received your kind letter Tuesday so you can imagine my shock to read of Scott's passing. Please know you are in my thoughts. And please know that, with time, tears will change to smiles as you remember his life so well lived. I am fortunate to have known such a man.

Scott has been a loyal and dedicated member of the East Winds Symphonic Band for as long as I can remember. He was always looking for some way he could help the band with its activities. I worked with him on some of the logistics when our band hosted the Association of Concert Bands Annual Conference in 2016. He was incredibly kind and generous of spirit, never needing to show off, and always had something nice to say. He was the embodiment of what community band is all about.
